Casey Summar

"As an artist who went on to law school, I enjoy my role at the Arts & Business Council because it allows me to keep one foot in the arts community and one in the business community as we encourage more partnerships.  Whether through programs that empower artists to create more sustainable careers or that show businesses how they can engage first-hand with the arts, all of our work connects back to a fundamental belief in the importance of the role artists play in a community."

A lawyer and letterpress printmaker, Summar has the perfect blend of experiences in both the business and arts sectors. Summar has been a leader in the Arts & Business Council (ABC) community for over five years, and during that time she’s implemented several programs that foster partnerships between the arts and business communities. The WorkCreative program pairs artists with employees for workplace training sessions, the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts pairs pro bono services to artists and nonprofits, and the Arts Board Matching program cultivates, educates, and places the next generation’s business leaders in the arts.
